BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Leslie Louis Daviet (1911-2002) was born in Louisiana. He and his wife (Lady Gay Robertson) met while attending Tulane University. They were married in Las Cruces in 1935. Dr. Daviet's father-in-law persuaded him that Las Cruces needed more medical professionals, so the young couple moved to Las Cruces where Dr. Daviet practiced medicine and served on various boards for 40 years. During World War II, he was an officer in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He served as a flight surgeon in India and China. In 1994, Dr. Daviet completed his life-long goal of visiting every continent in the world by taking a trip to Antarctica. He was a passionate and skilled photographer, which resulted in this unparalleled collection of slides and films.
