SIZE:

SCOPE & CONTENT:

Glass-mounted slides from the mid to late 1950s that depict the effects of radiation on the genetics of experimental animals (mice or rats). The experiment lasted for approximately 72 generations of the animals. These slides show basic genetic principles, the effects of ration on genetics, and the different equipment and laboratory space for housing the experimental animals. The experimental design and the effects of radiation are illustrated through the use of pedigree diagrams and line charts. The consequence of radiation mutations on human genetics are shown for some of the mutations.
