Papers include manuscripts, Western Americana publications by Zamonski, and personal papers; Photographs include WWII, western states, Northern Mexico, Poland, and world travels.
Also includes many photographs of the Fr. Kino Mission Churches in Arizona and Northern Mexico.
BIOGRAPHY:
Stanley Walter Zamonski (Zamojski), 1919-2001, had long careers as an engineering draftsman, a photographer for the Jefferson Sentinel Press, 1955-70, and a free-lance photo-journalist, Denver, CO, 1954-68. He was a writer of American West pulp fiction, publishing eight books and over 200 articles in newspapers and magazines. Zamonski was the Curator of the Buffalo Bill Cody Museum in Golden, CO from 1975-1988. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a glider and B-24 bomber pilot as a 2nd Lieutenant, 1939-1946.
