BIOGRAPHY:

Elizabeth Arndt, 1920-2017, was born in Boston, MA and graduated from the Boston City Hospital nursing school. She joined the Army Nurse Corps in 1941 and served in WWII until 1946. Betty achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant. She met her husband of 63 years, Joseph Arndt, Jr., in 1942 at an Army reception.

Betty lived in Centralia, MO., for many years where she was an active homemaker, giving her time to family, friends and non-profits, including the Girl Scouts, Republican Women, Sorosis, P.E.O., Red Cross, and her church. She was also active in the Women’s Veterans Auxiliary.

Betty retired to Las Cruces, NM.
