Photos of India, family events, travel, miniature collection; 50 page transcription of Emily Good letters from India (1965); cassette tapes; turquoise bracelet; books; magazines.

BIOGRAPHY:

Emily was born in Huntsville, AL, on October 2, 1926. She obtained her bachelors degree at the University of Alabama and her masters at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where she met her husband, William B. Good. After graduation, Emily worked as an applied mathematician at the Physical Science Laboratory at New Mexico State University and at the White Sands Missile Range. In her later life, Emily was nationally distinguished for her work as a miniaturist and a permanent collection of her art is housed at the Toy and Miniature Museum in Kansas City, MO. Photos of her miniature collection can also be viewed at IHSF.

Emily’s husband, Dr. William B. Good, professor of Physics at New Mexico State University, acted as a consultant and teacher in a summer institute for some 600 high school physics teachers at 12 separate institutions in Saugar, India. Emily accompanied her husband and wrote about her experiences in notes home to her young daughters.

Emily Good passed on October 2, 2010, on her 84th birthday.
